Overview
The curriculum at Cliff is well balanced, stimulating and exciting. It goes well beyond the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum as we believe passionately in educating the whole child. We aim for high standards in English and mathematics which are taught every day, but we also believe in widening our children's general knowledge and allowing them the opportunity to discover their musical, sporting, creative and artistic talents. Information technology is very advanced and the teachers embed it in their planning and most lessons make us of it.
We firmly believe that our pupils should learn from the world around them and experience life beyond the classroom. For this reason every class goes on an educational day trip at least once a term and some of life's important lessons are learnt when they are given the opportunity, from year 1, to go on an annual residential trip.
Academic learning is important at Cliff but so is the development of personality and character. Our programme of daily assemblies, personal, social and health education leassons, circle time and charity events play their part in teaching our children empathy for others, compassion, cooperation and good manners.
